Ginger is known for its healing properties, specially with stomach and respiratory ailments. It is a pernenial rhizome that is light to reddish brown is color. Mostly  grown in India, China and other tropical regions. For over 5000 years ginger has been  used as a herbal medicine for all ailments. Drinking ginger juice everyday with a dash echinacea will give you the immunity boost you need specially in winter to ward off those colds and coughs.

 

Ginger plant has 30-100 cm tall stem or rhizome. Leaves are green in color and lance-shaped with 15-20 cm long. Ginger belongs to Zingiberaceae family.   • If you have been coughing profusely and can''t stop, take a piece of freshly cut ginger and dip in some salt and chew on it takin gin the juice. This iwll help with the cough.
  • Another way is to cut 2inches of ginger and cut it and boil it in 1glass of water to concentrate it. Once it halves in qunatity, add some lemon juice and honey and keep drinking it 3-4 times during the day.
  • When you have stomach upset. This is a ginger is a good help with the digestion and flatulence.

 

Ginger consumption helps in relaxing and helping digestion. Ginger is used for upset stomach, nausea, constipation, motion sickness and many more. Ginger is used as a spice in cooking. Due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti flatulence properties it is widely available in  extracts, tinctures, tablets and oils. Ginger is used in preparation of tea. Recent studies found that ginger has anticancer activity.

Eating a balanced diet and exercising meoderately should help you but if adding ginger speedens the process then by all means do it.
