Global Innovation Game rewards three top players with business tools and expert advice
12.02.2010– BOSTON, MA – Throughout the week of GEW in mid-November, players competed within GiG for the top spot in three categories – health, energy and transport. The three players described below posted solutions to real life challenges that reflected fresh thinking and received the most support – both from the players themselves and other players within the GiG community.
• Tarek Refaat of Cairo, Egypt, for his solution to use river transportation and increase bicycle usage to relieve heavy vehicle traffic in the streets of his city.
• Hilary Singer, a native of the U.S. state of Alaska currently living in Edinburgh, U.K., for recommending a mobile purification system that cleanses water while it is being transported from the source.
• Bugs Tan of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for his idea to wrap thin, flexible solar films around objects to maximize capture of the sun's energy throughout the day.
All three winners will receive a rewards package courtesy of game sponsor Mercator XXI, a professional services company helping clients engage the global economy, that consists of a year's worth of expert advice to develop a business plan or investment presentation, assistance in identifying possible sources of financing, and up to $750 USD of business tools to help each entrepreneur to succeed
