Chlamydia Trachomatis is a powerful bacterial agent that spreads the infection - Chlamydia. It is a STI  i.e sexually transmitted infection. Unsafe sex  with multiple persons accelerate the risk of being infected by STD. In severe cases, the infection can cause the sexual dysfunction and leads to infertility. All the STI dieseases are very serious and if neglected can lead to more critical and deadly infections such as AIDS. Hence it is very important that Chlamydia infection is treated with great care.

What causes Chlamydia?

Chlamydia mainly affects the females. Regular unprotected  sexual intercourse (oral,  or vaginal)  with different men can speed up the outbreak of this  sexually transmitted disease to bring women on the verge of destruction. On the other hand, if a lady is pregnant, her unborn baby can also be affected by Chlamydia as the infection is passed on the fetus through birth canal. Germs mix with blood and enhance the blood contamination. Children affected by Chlamydia during birth display the symptoms of pneumonia. Such problem is more frequent in developing countries.

What are the Symptoms of Chlamydia?

It is seen that Chlamydia doesn't show any symptoms. Nor does it display any skin rash or blisters on the texture of skin. That is why, at first, both men and women are not able to detect the presence of the germs of Chlamydia in the blood stream. Chlamydia mainly attacks fallopian tube, urethra, cervix and uterus. If a woman is used to having sex relations with multiple men  she is constanlty under the threat of Chlamydia, and hence she should regularly consult the  sex- specialists to protect herself.  It is all the more important because it is difficult to diagnose the symptoms of this STI due to invisibility of and indicative signs of . However, there are  few specific symptoms of Chlamydia infection. These  symptoms in women are:

• Disorder in vaginal discharge
• Burning sensation in the vaginal wall at the time of discharge of urine
• Pain in the abs region
• Pain through the spinal cord of the backside
• Nausea
• Feeling uneasy to work
• Sickness
• Loss of vigor during sex
• Feeling disturbed to reach the acme of orgasm and libido
• Heavy bleeding during menstrual cycle

On the other hand, men infected with Chlamydia STD bacteria also experience few basic symptoms and signs:

• Discharge of white colored fluid from penile shaft
• Feeling irrational pain when urine runs down the penile shaft
• Gland of penis swells and reddened due to infection
• Feeling pain at the time of pulling foreskin of the penis
• Testes become inflamed followed by constant pain and itchiness

How is Chlamydia diagnosed?

Swollen sex organs and pus oozing out from vagina in women are commonly diagnosed as symptoms of Chlamydia. In men, presence of pus in the penis are taken as chlamydia infection symptoms. When these symptoms are accompanied by fever the diagnosis is confirmed. As a part of clinical trial to diagnose Chlamydia, swab test is done by doctors. Some amount of fluid is collected from vagina and penis which is infected. This collected pus is handed over to experts for testing purposes. This disease is also many times accompanied by other STD's such as  gonorrhea or trichomonas and hence usually doctors also recommend several other tests for checking their presence.

How is Chlamydia treated?

As a mode of treatment doctors prescribe proper dosages of antibiotic medications such as azithromycin (Zithromax) or doxycycline (Atridox, Bio-Tab) for treating Chlamydia. Usually one course of medication is enough to cure this disease. Doctors advise the patient to refrain from sex during the treatment and unless the patient is completely cured of the infection.  

What are the other health problems caused by Chlamydia?

If you leave Chlamydia untreated for prolonged period of time, it leads to other critical health conditons. The cpacity of a woman to deliver a child is affected due to infection in reproduction system. PID or Pelvic Inflammatory Disease takes place owing to the onset of Chlamydia. Egg fertilization process is also disturbed due to this bacterial infection. To top it all, there are chances of development of more serious STD -AIDS.

How can you prevent Chlamydia?

If you like to safeguard your health, you will have to take care of your sexual life. Be patient and intelligent. Do not enhance the sexual perversion. Nor is it good to have unprotected sex with several men/ women.  Always keep in touch with modern technology and new inventions which enable people to reduce the severity and risks of infection spread by Chlamydia bacteria. Effective clinical studies, trials and examinations are required to know beforehand whether Chlamydia germs have infected the body or not. And always abstain from indulging in unprotected sex.
